Fairly Odd Parents
Creator: Butch Hartman
Aired: March 30, 2001
Episodes as of 11/11/11: 126
Taste the Show: (link to summaries of the first seven episodes)
Setting: Dimmsdale, CA
Characters:
Timmy Turner: Is the main character in the show. He is a ten year old boy whom is famous for wearing a pink hat. He has huge teeth, which are the focus of some episodes. He was granted fairy godparents because he was miserable due to the fact that his babysitter made him miserable. He has a really short attention span, but is really smart.
Cosmo: Is one of Timmy’s fairy godparents. Cosmo is not bright and is impulsive. He is always the color green and when he turns into things to hide from humans whatever he becomes is green as well. He is married to Wanda.
Wanda: Is Timmy’s other fairy godparent. Wanda is very smart, the voice of reason, but is portrayed as a nagger by both Timmy and Cosmo. She is always the color pink and when she turns into things to hide from humans whatever she becomes is pink as well. She is married to Cosmo.
Vicky: Is Timmy’s sixteen year old baby sitter. She takes pleasure in torturing children, whether mental or physical pain is given. While she makes Timmy’s life miserable, he does not completely hate her because she is the reason that he received his fairies and is grateful for that reason alone.
Chester: Is one of Timmy’s best friends. He has braces, blonde hair, and is the son of one of the worst baseball players in the world. He is generous and always tries to help out others, despite the fact that he is lower class.
AJ: Is Timmy’s other best friend. He is an upper class, African American, genius. He is a typical nerd when it comes to video games and comic books, and he has a secret laboratory.
Mr. and Mrs. Turner: Are Timmy’s parents. They are clueless in just about everyway, and seem like neglectful parents since they are never around, but they are always shown loving him when they are in episodes.
Mr. Crocker: Is Timmy’s teacher that is obsessed with fairies. He has been trying to prove their existence for year. Shockingly he had fairies as a kid, in fact he had Timmy’s fairies. He typically give Timmy F’s whether he deserves it or not, and his obsession with fairies leads most adults to think he is mentally disturbed.
Taste the Show:
1. "The Big Problem/Power Mad!":
The Big Problem!: Faced with the hardships of being little, Timmy wishes to become an adult, with unsatisfying results. Then, after being informed that Cosmo and Wanda will be reassigned to a new child since fairies can only grant wishes to children, Timmy, with his godparents' help, must find his inner child in order to wish himself young again.
Power Mad!: Tired of his games being too childish, Timmy wishes for the most challenging video game ever. When Chester and A.J. come over unexpectedly, they end up transporting themselves into the game. Now, Timmy must enter the game himself and survive various levels of difficulty in order to reach his friends. Unfortunately, Timmy's new game uses so much energy that any appliance Vicky uses will cause power surges and most likely shut down the game. Will Timmy, A.J. and Chester be able to beat the game before the power goes out or be trapped in it forever?
2. "Spaced Out/TransParents!":
Spaced Out - After watching an episode of Crash Nebula, Timmy and his friends decide to act out their own version of the episode. Timmy figures the reenactment will be more realisitic with an authentic alien creature. So Cosmo and Wanda conjure up Mark Chang, prince of the planet Yugopotamia. Mark then captures Chester and A.J. (who don't know he's a real alien) and develops an affection for Vicky. Since magic cannot interfere with true love, Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda blast off to Yugopotamia to find Mark's parents so they can set things straight and bring Mark home.
TransParents! - Timmy's teacher, Mr. Denzel Crocker, calls for a conference with Timmy's parents for a suspicious show-and-tell project. Not wanting to let his real parents find out, Timmy asks Cosmo and Wanda to pose as his parents. Crocker, who knows that Cosmo and Wanda are fairies, sets up traps for them to prove their existence. However, Principal Waxelplax is the one that gets trapped and gets mad at Crocker in the end.
3. "A Wish Too Far/Tiny Timmy!":
A Wish Too Far! - Wanting to fit in and fall in love with popular girl Trixie Tang, Timmy wishes to become popular, but he soon becomes more selfish about his wishes.
Tiny Timmy! - In order to study about the human body, Cosmo and Wanda shrink Timmy so that he can explore Vicky's human body, but chaos soon ensues. But Timmy seems to turn Vicky into an animal friend loving Princess.
4. "Father Time!/Apartnership!":
Father Time! - After getting in trouble for melting his father's trophy with heat vision, Timmy wishes for a time-travelling scooter so he can go back in time to stop Dad from ever winning the aforementioned trophy. Unfortunately, Timmy's actions have changed the course of history when he returns to the present where Dad rules all of Dimmsdale and Cosmo and Wanda were never Timmy's godparents! Now, Timmy must go back to the past again to correct the damage he did to the timeline.
Apartnership! - While celebrating the wedding anniversary of both his parents and godparents, Timmy is forced to travel to Fairy World when Cosmo leaves Wanda due to a misunderstanding.
5. "Chin Up!/Dog's Day Afternoon"
Chin Up!- Timmy meets his favorite superhero, The Crimson Chin, but the discovery that he is fictional sends the hero into a deep depression. Timmy must now reverse this situation, and as a result he gains the superhero alter-ego of Cleft the Boy Chin Wonder. (This episode was a parody of the movie Last Action Hero).
Dog's Day Afternoon - Timmy wishes to switch brains with Vicky's dog, but swiftly discovers that the dog actually has it just as badly as he does.
6. "Dream Goat!/The Same Game"
Dream Goat! - Feeling that Chompy the Goat needs freedom, Timmy wishes him free. But when Vicky is spotted near Chompy's pen, she is accused of setting Chompy free and is arrested. Timmy must get Chompy back!
The Same Game - Timmy is being made fun of by Dr. Bender and his son Wendell because of his large buck teeth, so he wishes for everyone to look the same. Everyone then turns into gray blobs. Since the fairies cannot find their godchildren, they began exploding and turning into dust. When Cosmo and Wanda go out to look for Timmy, they have no luck. Cosmo then turns to dust and Wanda is about to. Will she find Timmy before she and all of the other fairies turn to dust?
7. "Christmas Everyday!"

Trivia:
The April Fool character is based on comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
Timmy's "silly pink hat" was originally supposed to be blue, but Butch Hartman's blue marker ran dry while designing the character, so he used pink instead.
Jay Leno voices Timmy's favorite superhero "The Crimson Chin".
Timmy is horrified of feet and clowns. He is allergic to oranges as well.
When Timmy goes back in time to change Crocker, you can see a DeLorean Speeding off right before Timmy arrives. This is a reference to Back to the Future (1985)
Pop sensation Chip Skylark is voiced by ‘N Sync band member Chris Kirkpatrick.

Invader Zim
Creator: Jhonen Vasquez
Aired: March 30, 2001
Episodes as of 11/11/11: 46
Characters:
Zim: is the main character. He is an alien from the planet Irk. He is impulsive and yells a lot in the show. He wears a human suit when he goes outside to blend in with humans so he can learn about them. He plans on destroying or enslaving the humans, but fails at every attempt.
GIR: Is a standard robot made by the Irkens for Zim to take to Earth. He acts in bizzare ways because his head contains random parts instead of artificial intelligence. His disguise for the human world was a poor dog costume that shockingly fools most people.
Dib: Is obsessed with paranormal. So when he sees Zim, he instantly recognizes him as an alien. He tries to expose Zim as an alien, but has no success. His father and sister both think he is crazy.
Gaz: Is Dib’s sister. She dresses gothic, is psychotic, admits that Zim is an alien, but does not fear him because she thinks he is too dumb. She likes pizza and video games.
Almighty Tallest: Red and Purple, collectively known as the Almighty Tallest, are the supreme emperors of the Irken Empire. They are united in their love of destruction, tormenting of others, snacks, puppet shows and their hatred of Zim.
Taste the Show:
1. "The Nightmare Begins":
The Irken race is having a great assigning for Operation Impending Doom II, where all Invaders are assigned a planet to conquer. Zim is not invited, as he nearly destroyed the planet Irk during Operation Impending Doom I; yet turns up anyway, and hoping to never deal with him again, The Almighty Tallest send Zim on a fake mission to the edges of their known universe and issue him a dysfunctional Standard Information Retrieval unit who called himself "GIR", where they hope he will die/be lost and never found. Unfortunately, there is a planet called Earth on the outskirts of the Irken universe, and when Zim finds this world (months later) he assumes this is the subject of his "mission". After arriving on Earth, Zim attempts to fit in and fools everyone except his schoolmate Dib, a young paranormal investigator, who vows to capture Zim and prove that he is an alien. Gir sings the doom song on this episode.
2. "Bestest Friend/ NanoZIM"
Bestest Friend - Zim notices that all the other children in the school have friends except him. This is seen as a threat to his all-important mission, as well as a potential exposure of his real identity. He decides that as he doesn't want to appear strange, he must also have a friend. Zim chooses an annoying classmate named Keef to be his best friend and once people have acknowledged that Zim has a friend, he attempts to abandon him. Keef, however, does not take the hint and so Zim must use more drastic methods to dispose of him. Keef tries to throw a surprise party for Zim, which does not come as a surprise on account of GIR, but instead, Zim makes Keef think a squirrel is him.
NanoZIM - Dib sneaks into Zim's base, takes incriminating pictures of Zim without his disguise on, and puts them on a floppy disk. Zim discovers Dib and shrinks to microscopic size to enter Dib's body via microscopic submarine. Zim accesses Dib's nervous system, giving him control of Dib's arms, and makes him crush the floppy disk. Dib reveals he has a copy of the disk hidden in his house, so Zim travels to Dib's brain to wipe the memory of where the disk copy is hidden, and, as an added bonus, damage Dib's brain to the point where he will never be a threat again. Dib then swallows a mini-submarine (a creation of his dad's) and begins to fight Zim, using a controls that look uncannily like a laptop computer. When Zim accesses Dib's brain, Dib begins to lose control, and Gaz, who thinks this is merely an online game (and a lame one at that). Gaz saves Dib's life and organs from Zim, who is later disposed of, but never realizes that this was more than a video game. This episode also features more intense computer generated sequences. Computer-generated imagery had been used in the series already, but this episode was the most demanding so far.
3. "Parent Teacher Night/ Walk of Doom":
Parent Teacher Night - Parent-Teacher Night is approaching and Zim is confronted with the fact that he doesn't have any parents (Irkens are cloned from a gene bank). He makes use of his robot parents to attempt to fool the students, teachers and parents. However, Zim knows that the Roboparents aren't equipped for such a job. Dib, who brings his dad's communication device, tries to prove that Zim is an alien. The robotic parents malfunction and wreak havoc during the meeting, but nobody discovers that they aren't human or that Zim is an extraterrestrial.
Walk of Doom - Zim goes on an outing to the downtown area in order to test a new guidance chip he installed in GIR, but when GIR removes the chip before leaving to store a cupcake, Zim and GIR are left lost and having to resort to public transport to find their way back. Their journey home is complicated further by Zim temporarily losing his vision by looking at the sun, his disguise being mistaken for that of a bank robber, and his escape from the police being wrecked by GIR replacing his extra rocket fuel with tuna fish.
4. "Germs/ Dark Harvest":
Germs - Zim sees a B-rated movie reminiscent of the 1953 film version War of the Worlds, where advanced extraterrestrial species are thwarted by common germs. Zim becomes acutely germophobic and dedicates himself to studying and exterminating all of the Earth's bacteria. He goes on incredibly through cleaning sprees and uses germ spray on himself and GIR. After running out of germ spray he heads out to buy more, but GIR runs off to McMeaty's. He there discovers that he can protect himself from germs using a germ-resistant hamburger "meat" made of recycled napkins, which is sold there.
Dark Harvest - When a pigeon lands on Zim's head in class, he is sent to the nurse's office for having 'head pigeons,' but he becomes concerned that the nurse may discover that he is not actually human. To avoid this, Zim steals human organs from other children and replaces them with other objects and ingests them himself, resulting in him having multiple hearts and spleens. When Dib notices Zim had been out of class for a long time, he discovers Zim and what he had been doing and tries to stop him. In the end, Zim passes his examination, and after it is discovered that Zim had swapped a mooing can toy into Dib's body, he is immediately dubbed inhuman by the nurse, and is dubbed a "hideous mooing cyborg boy" in a resulting newspaper article.
5. "Attack of the Saucer Morons/ The Wettening"
Attack the Saucer Morons - Zim's spaceship is sent spiraling out of control after an encounter with a bee and it crash-lands in a park. Zim attempts to recover it, but a UFO-cult finds Zim's ship before he has a chance to take it back to his base. Zim is captured by the group once his disguise falls apart, and they begin to worship him as their prophesied alien god. Zim cannot contact GIR directly after the crash due to GIR's attendance of a rave party. Eventually, Zim gets in contact with GIR who is able to rescue Zim and recover the spaceship, only to crash once more in the midst of yet another UFO-cult as a result of the same bee.
The Wettening - During a rainstorm after school, Zim discovers that water (or rather, the pollution in it) has a harmful effect on his Irken skin. Dib also learns this and attacks him by splasing him with a puddle, and later, a water balloon. Zim realizes he must defend himself and he discovers that paste protects his skin from the harmful effects of water. Dib constructs an automatic water balloon-launching weapon over the weekend to destroy Zim. On Monday morning, Dib turns up at school with his weapon, and prepares to annihilate Zim —but when he attacks, he finds Zim has been replaced with a holographic decoy. Zim is in fact on a space station with his own over-the-top water-based weapon. The space station siphons all the water on Earth (Including all oceans, lakes, and rivers) and into a massive water balloon of his own, which he subsequently drops upon the Earth—causing apocalyptic flooding and destruction (though no major characters are harmed). The whole water balloon plan was to kill Dib (and possibly any other Zim finds annoying, the more humans gone, the better), but, as usual, Zim goes completely overboard. At the end, Zim marches off to what's left of his base, saying he's going to immerse himself in paste. But then his head caught in an actual toilet instead of the fake toilet that he uses to access his underground lair, because he gets mixed up between the remains of his base and the remains of a men's bathroom that GIR was playing in.
6. “Career Day/Battle Dib”:
Career Day - It's career day at school and Dib has been paired with a paranormal investigator named "Bill", while Zim goes to work at a fast food restaurant called McMeaty's. However, after discovering Zim is moulting due to the galactic equinox, Dib tries to convince his new mentor to help him expose Zim. The moulting process, while disgusting and explosive, only lasts a few seconds, so it is crucial that "Bill" pays attention. Bill, however, is not interested, and Dib must trick him into going to the restaurant. "Bill" is distracted but fails to see Zim moult. After moulting, Zim is fired from McMeaty's.
Battle Dib - Dib desires to do a presentation about Zim for a meeting of the Swollen Eyeballs, a secret society which attempts to track down aliens and other such paranormal beings. However, the society requires that he must have a permission slip signed by his father, Professor Membrane, before he can do this. Professor Membrane is very famous, so he has a television show and Dib must endure various trials (including a Thunderdome) to gain access to his father. Dib fails the trials, but is successful in getting his father's signature. However, he cannot give his presentation as he lost his suitcase during the trials (which contained proof of Zim's alien heritage). This is the first of the three episodes to not feature Zim.
7. “Planet Jackers/Rise of the Zitboy”:
Planet Jackers – Zim is spying on the other Invaders, checking on their progress via a massive telescope, when static appears onscreen instead of the desired Invader. Zim summons GIR only to find that GIR did not do anything to the telescope. Then various earthquakes begin on Earth, breaking his telescope, and Zim attempts to find out why. He first tries using Dib's giant telescope, but Dib won't let him. So he has no choice but to set off in his Voot Cruiser. He says something about adjusting the Cruiser's G-Force compensators before rocketing off of the surface of Earth at ridiculous speeds. He is only stopped when they hit what turns out to be a giant TV screen, and discovers that the planet is being stolen by the Planet Jackers, aliens who use planets (like the Earth) as kindling for their dying sun. After failing to persuade them to leave the planet for his conquest, Zim goes about stealing the planet back and is eventually successful. The citizens of Earth have no idea what was happening (although the "sky" inside of the capturing shell appears to pulse) and the Planet Jackers never realize that they lost the Earth. This is the first episode that Zim saved the human race, though he claims that he is saving it just so he can destroy it.
Rise of the Zitboy - Zim is experimenting one day when Dib tries to sneak into his base in a ceramic squirrel costume. Zim sees through this disguise and kicks him out, but not before learning that Dib has found a weakness in his security system. This is confirmed by a pizza boy walking straight through is robotic guard gnomes and delivering a pizza. Zim goes inside, pondering the flaw, when GIR eats the pizza and then jumps on Zim, covering him in grease. This causes Zim to get a zit. GIR enjoys the zit very much and draws a little face on it, which Zim fears will make him stick out even more. After the Zit grows he discovers that its motion has hypnotic powers so for a little test he uses it on GIR which hypnotizes him. Zim takes a little body from his box and attaches it to the zit, which he names Pustulio and passes off as a friend. Zim uses this hypnotic (albeit disgusting) zit to gain control of the school children, and then forces Dib into revealing the weakness in Zim's base defenses. At that point the pimple grows even further to monstrous proportions and explodes; Zim then leaves to reinforce his base's defenses to remove the weakness, while Dib is forced to clean up the mess with a tiny sponge.

Reggie is against this, since Otto rides for Rocket Boards, their dad's company. Still, the offer is hard for Rocket-Boy to resist, since they give him his own "Otto 3000" snowboard. Will Otto end up doing the right thing, or will he sell out? / When Lars dares the Rocket crew to play a midnight street hockey match, Otto, Reggie, Twister and Sam have to sneak out of their houses to prove they are up to the challenge. 5."Twister's Cuz/Big Thursday"
August 30, 1999
The Rocket kids are excited about the new Sky Torpedo ride which has opened on the pier, but Twister can't go with the others since he has to baby-sit his cousin Little Scottie. When he decides to take Scottie to the pier anyway, things get out of hand when the little kid gets separated from the group. Will Twister find his cousin and get him home safely? / A bad storm has hit Ocean Shores, making the surf conditions extremely perilous. This only entices Otto even more to try riding the waves to be more like his hero "The Rhino", a surf legend known for his ability to take on danger. Will Otto survive the storm, or will he "write a check his tush cannot cash"?

Oh yeah! / When Twister shows a video at The Shore Shack of Otto beefing it, he becomes the laughing stock of Ocean Shores. Feeling like Twister ruined his rep, Otto stops being his friend. Can Twist make it up to his best pal, or will Sam take his place as Bro #1?

Trivia
The reason for the "N" on The Squid's shirt is because he was originally supposed to be from New York (in the show, he had attended "Newton Elementary School" when he lived in Kansas). Word never got to the artists so the "N" stayed.
The gang called Twister, Squid but when Sammy moved to Ocean Shores he was given the nick-name Squid because he was the new kid.
Twister is only referred by his real name, Maurice, when his parents are talking to him or the gang is teasing him.
Tito claims that he came all the way from “Pineapple Country.”
The Shore Shack, which Ray owns, is sometimes referred to as “The Shack”, even though the name on the building says “Shore Shack.”

CatDog

Aired: April 4, 1998
Episodes as of 11/11/11: 68
Characters
Cat: Is the intelligent of the conjoined animals. He thinks straight most of the time, but is very timid and hardly adventurous. He is sarcastic and is condescending towards every other character. He takes on a lot of likings and dislikings of a cat.
Dog: Is the less intelligent of the conjoined animals. He is very adventurous and very compassionate. He is innocent and takes on a lot of likings and dislikings of a dog.
Winslow: Is a blue rat that lives with CatDog. Is is just about as intelligent as Cat and is trying to fool him constantly and cause him mental anguish. He has a Brooklyn type accent.
The Greaser Dogs: are three dogs that act as bullies towards CatDog and Winslow. They are based off of greasers with the slick hair, white shirts and leather jackets.

Taste the Show
1.Dog Gone- This is an introduction to some aspects of CatDog in general, i.e dog chasing garbage trucks constantly, while being chased by the the Greasers, Winslow manipulating them, telling them that he doesn't know how they can stand being together constantly and making Cat feel bad and feel smothered by Dog. As a result Dog agrees to cover himself up with half a cat costume with a tail to give Cat some space....
Preview CatDog- Mailbag- Just a little short that came on after Dog Gone. CatDog read a letter that asked where did CatDog come from? Cat said they were descended from royalty and the tale got a little out of hand. Meanwhile, Winslow was hiding the mountain of other letters they had. I remember seeing this little short every once in a while between commercials through the summer before CatDog began. This little short is what peaked my interest to see them when they came to Nickelodeon last Fall.
2.All You Can't Eat- CatDog are hungry, ESPECIALLY DOG! They decide to go to Dog's favorite restaurant Taco Depot to feast upon the all you can eat buffet. Dog took the All you can eat notion VERY seriously, to the point that CatDog was banned from ever eating there again. "No Shoes, No Shirts, NOOOO CATDOG!" Rancid Rabbit was manager there and enforced this law. CatDog were desparate so they attempted to get in, by using clever disquises and other crazy antics........
3.Flea or Die-CatDog catches a huge flea epidemic at the beach and head to Rancid Rabbit Doctor for help. He reccomends a flea bath but Cat refuses. So they are forced to wear a bulky flea belt around them that embaresses them especially Cat, because they find out that belts are OUT this season. Cat gives into his vanity and makes Dog wear it. The fleas get really bad on Cat, that they start fighting over the belt to control the fleas.....
4.CatDog Food - Cat applied for a catfood tasting job. Dog ended up enjoying the food too, so that Rancid Rabbit put a scheme together and created CatDog Food, with CatDog as the advertisers and mascots. CatDog were instant stars now. But, Dog didn't let it go to HIS head.....
5.The Island- This is another favorite of mine. It's very very creative! CatDog get prepared to go on a beautiful tropical island vacation but as a result, become "ship wrecked" on a traffic island surrounded by neverending cars wizzing by. Trivia:
The show originated as a book called "Doug Got a New Pair of Shoes".
The origin of the character Patti Mayonnaise is the combination of the names of two girls Jim Jinkins had a crush on in school.
Judy Funnie's name may come from the poem "Shakespeare's Sister" written by Virginia Woolf. In the poem, Woolf states that if Shakespeare would have had a sister, her name would have been Judith. Furthermore, Shakespeare himself had a daughter named Judith. Since Judy Funnie is obsessed with Shakespearean plays, it is possible that this is why her name is Judy.
Doug moves to 21 Jumbo Street, the street is named after the production company, Jumbo Pictures Inc.
Doug's favorite band, "The Beets", is an obvious reference to The Beatles, most notably the lead singer (who bears a striking resemblance to John Lennon) and the drummer (who bears a similar resemblance to Ringo Starr)

George Maestri, a writer for Rocko's Modern Life, describes the episode as containing the elements of "every bad roommate I've ever had, though I never had a nudist for a roommate." In a December 17, 2007 entry in his personal blog, Maestri discussed the Nicktoons special "The 100 Greatest Moments in Nicktoons History," held "a few weeks" prior to the post. Olson, creator of Bloaty and Squirmy, described the work for "Dirty Dog" as one of the most memorable moments in the production of Rocko's Modern Life.  This show is one of the original "Nicktoons" along with Doug and The Ren & Stimpy Show
Although in the movie and the mother's day episode of the Rugrats it tells us that Chuckie's mom died, the early episodes implied that Chuckie's mom was still alive.
Angelica Pickles was put at number seven in TV Guide's 50 Greatest Cartoon Characters, beating classics like Bart and Lisa Simpson and Mickey Mouse.
Although three of the four main babies are male, all four of them are voiced by females.
The reason Tommy is always depicted as adventurous and "brave" is because he was born premature. Hence his "fighting" spirit.

Krumm is acrophobic (fear of high places).
The Gromble's voice and appearance resemble those of the Chief of the Blue Meanies in "The Yellow Submarine".
Originally the Gromble's name was going to be the Womble. But the writers ended up changing the name to Gromble to avoid a lawsuit from the writers of a British TV series called "The Wombles".
Unlike the vast majority of animated productions, the three principal voice actors (Charles Adler, Christine Cavanaugh and David Eccles) recorded their lines together in the same studio. In a Nickelodeon interview they claimed that this greatly helped their characterizations as it allowed them to play off of each other more smoothly.
